1. Flappers, usually people think of a knee length dress
that is covered in fringe, however many flappers wore heavily beaded dresses made of silk or silk velvet with chiffon skirts.
Feathers and fur were also very popular trims at the time. long pearl necklaces, boas, long satin gloves, sequin headbands
with feathers, and fishnets or nylons both with seams up the back
(all tights, nylons or fishnets had seams up the
back until the 1960's)
shoes with a T- strap or Mary Jane styles as well as pumps
were worn usualy with a 1'' to 2'' heel
2. Gangsters, Bonnie and Clyde. The men wore 3pc suits with
pin stripes and wide art deco styled ties spats to fit over your shoes and a fedora hat is a must! Also a
toy Tommy gun is a popular accessory. Bonnie wore a beret and a 1920 style women's suit or dress, not a flapper dress.
3. In the 1920's dresses were loose through the body and
had drop waists. Often worn with a belt or sash around the hip. The first bras were worn to flatten the chest for a more
boyish look. hats were small a very close fitting around the head and face, hair was cut short, finger waves were very
popular as well as the very straight bobbed style. |
